Class Description
Whether you’re a beginner stepping up to the lathe for the first time or looking to refresh your foundational skills, this hands-on workshop offers a rewarding introduction to the art of woodturning. Unlike multi-week woodworking projects, turning provides immediate satisfaction, allowing you to start with a wood blank and leave with a finished, artful, and functional bowl.
What You Will Learn
- Fundamental lathe safety and safe operating procedures
- Bowl turning techniques and form shaping
- Essential turning tool selection and proper sharpening methods
- Finishing options
Hands-on creation of a finished bowl measuring approximately 5″-6″ in diameter by 3″ deep
Included in the class: Bowl blank, turning tools, and safety gear. You are welcome to bring your own turning tools, eye protection, and dust mask.
Safety Requirement: Closed-toe shoes are strictly required in the shop.
